Eilish Kent

Eilish is a freelance story consultant, script editor, producer and educator. She has a track record as an innovative development executive and script editor with twenty years’ experience working at a senior level in the TV and Film industry in Ireland, spotting and developing new talent and bringing them to audience. 

Eilish worked in commissioning and developing TV drama for public service broadcasters RTÉ and BBC for over fifteen years.

During her time in RTÉ Eilish developed many international co-productions with the BBC, CBC, and C5 Australia. She pre-bought Irish feature films, including Oscar winner ONCE. She commissioned hundreds of short films, often in partnership with FÍS and the Arts Council. She created StoryLand, a unique online initiative, to capture new audience where she commissioned twenty-four original series including the Youtube hit HARDY BUCKS. 

She produced the feature documentary UNDER THE CLOCK for Snackbox films, which was released in cinema in October 2018 and aired on RTÉ One. And the animated short film ABE’S STORY under Frameworks, currently on its festival run.

She designed and delivers an accredited Certificate in Writing TV Drama, which is also a module on the MA in Screenwriting at the National Film School IADT. She also delivers short courses to writers and development executives on screenwriting.

She advises on Film to the Arts Council of Ireland. 

Eilish is developing a writer’s tool to explore narrative structure in female centered stories.

Eilish brings her knowledge, insight, creative sensibilities and expertise to assist funding agencies, producers, developers and writers to identify and manage quality projects for cinema, TV and online.
